Angelika II

(Apartments in Tsilivi)

Add New Comment....Can-U-Help....

What a shame to see what this place has become.  We stayed several times between 2001 and 2003, everything was basic in the rooms but they were kept clean.  Towels and bedding had seen better days but not worth getting upset about.  They were dropped by Manos after the 2003 season and Pepe the bar owner moved to a new business in Laganas...  Angelika II has never been the same since.  We stay once a year in that end of the village but even when we're staying elsewhere in the village we always take a walk down here, if only to see what farm animals the owner is rearing in the paddock next door...  The pool in June this year did look cleaner but both times we were in the village last year it was no cleaner than the brook that seperates Angelika II from the Daisy.  Met some wonderful people here and keep in touch with many, it's a real shame we could not go back for a "big meet" and do it all again.

click to enlarge click to enlarge click to enlargeMust agree with a guy posted before myself, you can tell from the outside it`s a nice place to be ( during the day) but when you scratch the surface you will find: lots of dirt in the studios, lots of yelling made by owners (their drive-way goes just near by apartments, car door slamming and noisy TV set from the office goes thru the night), the bar is near by also (what is not unusual but..) and barman (who`s a junky, I saw him do it) got a nasty habit to turn the music up at 23 until midnight and used to play same song (greek folk music) over and over again...and that is really frustrating to be upset like this in the middle of the night. We did complain but with no result.
..next, toilets in studios are messy with lots of stains, pipe for drain ventilation has got a puncture so the odour goes all around, water pipes doesn`t work properly and the drain is jammed....there`s only two small towels provided by hotel every 5 days per person, furniture is very old in most of studios, kitchen ware is rusty (???) and most of plates broken, there`s blood stains of killed mosquitos all over room, the doors squeaks incredibly...
...the pool is there but dirty again, there`s lots of "debris" and leftovers all around pool area including weed, the water is overchlorined...
I went to see hotels near by ours and I can say it`s all tidy and net so pay attention what you are booking and paying in advance next season...
Villa or a hotel Angelika is NOT the right place to spend your vacation and your money

I stayed here with my family back in 2002, we’ve been to Tsilivi 8 times and this has to be the most sub standard, dirty, disgusting place we’ve ever stayed at. We’ve traveled extensively throughout the Greek isles over the past 10 years visiting 2 or more places a year, and this is the only accommodation that I’ve experienced the likes of beggars knocking on hotel doors at all times in the evening trying to extract cash from the cash cow tourist! (And with the hotel owner’s permission!!!!)

We were back in Tsilivi last summer (2005) and yes thank goodness this flea ridden dump has been shut down, it had to be the biggest accommodation embarrassment to what is an up and coming resort!

Hope it stays shut…

we went to Tsilivi last september and was sad to see that angelika 2 was closed down. It wasn't the end of the season either. Looked like it had been closed for a while as all the weeds and grass were overgrown. it's a shame really as it was a lovely little complex and situated in a lovely quiet part of the resort. I don't know what the plans are for it, but hope it gets up and running again in the near future.
Just been reading through the posts on here and it looks like 2003 was the last season for angelika 2.

I don't think you can book Angelika II through UK travel agents. I've been searching all over the net and nothing. It looks like im going to have to settle with a neighbouring hotel and pay a visit whilst im in the area to Pepe. I went to Angelika II in 2003, best holiday i've had :-)

Went in October '03 - very clean, quiet and relaxing. Did a lot of walking & got around the island on local buses, but they are not very regular, so you need to be patient. Prefer Kefalonia and Santorini, but would like to return someday. These apartments ensure a 'quiet nights kip' ! !

I have just come back from Angelika II after being placed there on an allocation on arrival deal and was really pleased with what we got. The room we had was basic, the bathrooms a bit of a tight squeeze and the kichen was tiny but it was cleaned what seemed like every other day so it was never dirty. The staff are all very friendly and Pepe (Mr Greece) is nice to look at when u'r by the pool. Watch out if u want to keep u'r door open at night as u'l probably get a visit from one of the many kittens or Ella the puppy (very cute). Good food and cocktails but would eat out as there are louds of lovely restaurants and bars oh and 2 clubs as well (cheaper than Laganas)!!!

Just got back from Angelika and me and my friends really encjoyed our two week stay. The apartments are just what you expect very clean modern, fairly basic, nice!!!!But the best thing about this place is the bar which is run by Pepe and his family. This guy is a top bloke and he really looks after you during your stay. He is also built like a tank and could probably lift a small car and eat your children. I'm not joking the guy is a body builder, so you have to get toned up before your stay otherwise you really feel like a bloater sat by the pool! Good luck with the competitions Pepe all the best to your family, best wishes from Rich, Dave, Elaine and Clare.

Sophie - the angelika 2 is just a 5-10 mins walk away from the restaurants/bars at the bottom part of the resort ie.near popeyes/magdelenas. It is opposite a track which leads down to the beach - another 5 min walk, and it is surrounded by fields to the back and another couple of apartment blocks to the sides. It is really quiet and peaceful....but there are plenty of places to go without walking too far. Just contact me again if you want to know more! i think you will love it
